Viña el Encino is a velvety Rioja, named for a centenarian oak tree and made exclusively for Fortnum’s by Tobelos Bodegas y Viñedos, a partnership that stretches back 20 years. A blend of 95% Tempranillo plus a splash of Grenache gives perfumes of spice and vanilla followed by an intense mouthful of dark berries; winemaker Adriana Laucirica ages it a year longer in bottle than Tobelos’ own-brand Crianza, ensuring balance and adding flavour and complexity. A great match for grilled lamb cutlets and other roasted or grilled meats.
